HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c706W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether he will make regulations to require manufacturers, wholesalers, importers and retailers of inflatable plastic rubber dinghies to mark these with adequate warnings of danger.

Mr. John Fraser:

My Department has recently written to manufacturers and importers of inflatable boats, and also to the trade associations concerned, recommending that these products should bear appropriate warnings. If this approach proves unsuccessful, the possible need for regulations under the Consumer Protection Act 1961 will be considered.
