HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c813W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Minister for Overseas Development what payment will be made in 1977–78 for the services of the Hydrographer; and for what services will those payments be made.

Mr. Tomlinson:

We have allocated £500,000 from the aid programme for the services of a Royal Navy survey ship to undertake an off-shore survey of selected coastal waters of Ghana. The Hydrographer will also carry out a short survey of Marsaxlokk Bay, Malta, at a cost of £15,000.

Mr. Hooley

asked the Minister for Overseas Development what programme of work will be required of the Hydrographer of the Royal Navy by her Department in 1978; and what will be the charge on her Department's Vote for this work.

Mr. Tomlinson:

We do not at present have in mind any specific work programme for 1978–79, and we have made no specific allocation of funds beyond the current financial year.
