§ Mr. David Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether the proposals for wage increases of £4.00 per week decided on by the Licensed Residential Establishment and Licensed Restaurant Wages Council on 15th September 1977 comply with the guidelines in the White Paper "The Attack on Inflation after 31st July 1977", Command Paper No. 6882; and whether the same considerations will apply to a group of workers not covered by a wages council.
§ Mr. Harold Walker:The effects of these proposals are currently being examined in the same way as any other settlement reported to my Department. The proposals are open to representation and may be subject to amendment by the wages council in the light of representations.
