asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will now take steps to reduce the high cost of survey fees for inshore fishing vessels.

This is one of the matters which has been discussed by the Fishing Industry Safety Group fully representative of the inshore industry and under the chairmanship of my Department. I will report to the House when consideration of it has been completed.
