§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the relations between the Falkland Islands and the Argentine.
§ Mr. Luard:As a Crown Colony, the Falkland Islands have no formal relations with Argentina. These are the 846W responsibility of Her Majesty's Government. The Government have entered into negotiations with the Argentine Government, and, as my right hon. Friend's reply of 26th April makes clear, a major objective of these is to achieve a stable, prosperous and politically durable future for the Islands.
