HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 c849W
Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much money is being made available from the EEC to British political parties in preparation for direct elections to a European Assembly.

Mr. Judd:

The Assembly made provision in its 1977 budget for the distribution of 2mua—about £830,000 in sterling —to the political groups in the European Assembly on the basis of the strength of their representation. The distribution to the parties in each group is for decision within that group.
