§ Mr. Moyle:I regret that this information is not available centrally. Although most areas now maintain central registers listing children known to have suffered, or thought to be at grave risk of, non-accidental injury, the difficulty of defining non-accidental injury with precision and the fact that, at present, the criteria for including names on registers vary between areas are obstacles to collecting and summarising on a national basis the numbers of children on the registers.
