§ Mr. Arthur Lathamasked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will review the rules governing political activities by civil servants to ensure that individuals who are associated with extreme Right-wing organisations such as the National Association for Freedom are not responsible for the positive security vetting of others.
§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisThe rules governing the political activities of civil servants are already being reviewed by a committee of inquiry, under the chairmanship of Sir Arthur Armitage, which is expected to report shortly. The establishment of the committee was announced on 19th May 1976 by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister.
