§ Mr. Goodladasked the Minister of Overseas Development what special assistance has been offered to the Government of India following the recent cyclone.
§ Mrs. HartOn 22nd November my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister expressed his concern and sympathy to the Prime Minister of India over the loss of life and damage caused by the cyclones and told him that if there was any help the British Government could give we stood ready to provide it. My Ministry's Disaster Unit has been in close touch with the United Nations Disaster Relief Co-ordinator's Office in Geneva and with920W the Disasters Emergency Committee of the voluntary societies in the United Kingdom and has made arrangements to fly out relief aid and to provide such other help as may be required.
