75. Mr. Holland

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list in the Official Report the subject matter of action taken and advice given to him by (a) the Nature Conservancy Council and (b) the Countryside Commission duriing the past six months; and what was the number of meetings held by each body during the past 12 months.

Mr. Denis Howell

My officials are in constant contact with the Nature Conservancy Council and the Countryside Commission, and it is not possible to list all matters on which their advice has been given and action taken during the last six months. Full details are given in their

ship, as opposed to public authority housing, in the following countries: United Kingdom (England, Scotland and Wales, respectively) Ireland, France, Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Mr. Armstrong

Following are the available estimates for the United Kingdom and other countries:

annual reports, which are laid before Parliment. The Council and the Commission met 10 and 11 times respectively in the past 12 months.
