HC Deb 23 November 1977 vol 939 c813W
Mr. Rifkind

asked the Secretary of State for Defence which of the matters for which he is responsible in England he is not responsible for in Scotland; for which matters he is currently responsible in Scotland; and which matters for which he is currently responsible in Scotland will become the responsibility of the Scottish Assembly and executive under the terms of the Scotland Bill.

Dr. Gilbert

The security of the United Kingdom is indivisible. There is no difference between the responsibilities of the Secretary of State for Defence in Scotland and those in any other part of the United Kingdom.

Schedules 10 and 11 of the Scotland Bill set out the matters which are to be devolved. These schedules do not contain matters for which the Secretary of State for Defence is responsible.
