HC Deb 23 November 1977 vol 939 cc761-2W
Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what arrangements were made with the Government of the Maldives about the future use of Gan by other countries after the British withdrawal.

Mr. Luard

None. With the termination of the 1965 Anglo-Maldivian Agreement, which I announced in reply to a Question from the hon. Member for Blackpool, South (Mr. Blaker) on 7th June 1975—[Vol. 912, c. 575.]—the use of Gan became a matter exclusively for the Maldivian Government.
