§ 77. Mr. Blenkinsopasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action he is taking to encourage the use of derelict sites in urban areas.
§ Mr. MarksAs announced in the White Paper "Policy for the Inner Cities" (Cmnd. 6845), greater priority is now being given to derelict land reclamation 795W in urban areas. An additional £2 million has been made available this year and £4 million next year for clearance of urban sites. The White Paper also proposed that local authorities in partnership areas should be able to assist with site preparation costs; the Bill giving affect to this will be introduced shortly.
