Areas of great landscape value are not statutorily designated but are shown in local authority development plans. No comprehensive list of these areas is available, but their location as at 1st June 1974 is shown on the latest available revision of a map produced by the Department, "Conservation of the Countryside", a copy of which I am sending to the hon. Member.
