HC Deb 23 November 1977 vol 939 cc752-3W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he proposes to take to deal with the problems of delay and expense facing divorced women in obtaining payment of alimony awarded by the courts.

Mr. Millan

I have brought the recent expressions of public concern on this subject to the attention of the Scottish Law Commission. The Commission advises me that it is considering, as a matter of priority, the collection and enforcement of alimentary debt and hopes to publish a consultative paper during the first half of 1978.
