§ 17. Mr. Formanasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with current progress towards control of air pollution in cities, especially in London.
§ Mr. MarksI shall probably never be satisfied, but London is a particularly good example of the success of the policies followed in this country for urban air pollution control.
§ 40. Mr. Rhodes Jamesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action he proposes to take on the report of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development on the long-range transport of air pollutants.
§ Mr. Denis HowellWe are already participating in co-operative research programmes within the OECD and the ECE 779W to establish more precisely the extent of the transport of air pollution, the damage it may be causing and the various options for controlling it. We shall continue to support these studies and to take part in international discussions.
