§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI have at present no such proposals. Part II of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, which came into force on 15th November 1976, introduced an adoptive code of control for private hire cars and made some important amendments to the law on taxis. Many district councils are in process of adopting these provisions.
