§ Miss Richardsonasked the Attorney-General whether he is intending to establish a code of practice on eviction by 566W bailiffs under Part II of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
§ The Solicitor-GeneralAs Part II of the Criminal Law Act 1977 does not alter the duties of bailiffs it will not be necessary for my noble and learned Friend to issue a code of practice or amend existing instructions on the conduct of evictions. However, guidance will shortly be given to court staff and bailiffs on those provisions of the Act which affect their work.
