§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Minister of Overseas Development what has been the total value to British industry of orders financed by grants and loans made to developing countries by the British Government in each of the last five years.
§ Mrs. HartThe form in which procurement records are kept does not allow me to give exact figures, but it is estimated that orders placed with British industry and paid for from our bilateral aid programme in each of the last five years were worth:
1972 1973 1974 1975 1976 £million 90 95 120 135 180 These estimates do not include orders won for projects financed by the multilateral aid agencies towards which Britain contributes, nor expenditure on British services which forms the bulk of our technical co-operation programme.
