Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will give guidance to companies about the precise level of pay settlements which might disqualify them from receiving selective financial assistance under the Industry Act 1972, or whether this will remain a matter for the discretion of the Minister in each case.
