§ Mr. Joel BarnettIn 1976–77 income from domestic ratepayers and Government grants, provisionally calculated at outturn prices, formed 12 per cent. and 63 per cent. respectively of total local authority revenue from rates, housing rents, and central Government grants. As a proportion of each £ paid in income tax in 1976–77 there was a central Government contribution of 51p to local authorities' revenue as defined above.
