HC Deb 15 November 1977 vol 939 cc141-2W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in the interests of effective protection in the United Kingdom, his Department is monitoring the effect of the current immunisation campaign in the United States of America; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Moyle

The Chief Medical Officer wrote to doctors on 28th October 1977 conveying the most recent advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation on the use of influenza vaccine, which I assume my hon. Friend has in mind. In formulating its advice, the joint committee took into consideration the recent experience in the United States of America of its influenza vaccination campaign.

I am placing a copy of the letter from the Chief Medical Officer in the Library.
