§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many mental illness hospitals lack the services of a psychologist; how many lack the services of a qualified physiotherapist; and how many of the psychiatric nurses in such hospitals are fully qualified.
§ Mr. Moyle, further to his reply [Official Report, 26th October 1977; Vol. 936, c. 725], gave the following information
According to our latest information, of the 105 mental illness hospitals in England with 200 or more beds, one lacks the services of a psychologist, and 38 lack the services of a qualified physiotherapist. At the end of 1975, 21,022 of the 40,997 —whole-time equivalent—nurses in such hospitals were qualified.
