§ Mr. OakesThe latest available data are contained in the reports of the Adult Literacy Resource Agency for 1975–76 and 1976–77. These show that students undertaking adult literacy courses in Manchester numbered 1,019 in February 1976 and 1,177 in February 1977. Comparable numbers for Greater Manchester area as a whole are 3,381 and 4,541 respectively.
