§ Sir B. Rhys Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he held during his recent visit to Moscow about the proposals for new Russian Embassy buildings in Kensington; what suggestions he made; and what developments he now expects.
§ Mr. Tomlinson:The matter was not discussed with the Soviet authorities during my right hon. Friend's recent visit to Moscow, and he made no suggestions related to it. As regards expected developments, I have nothing further to add to what I said in the Adjournment debate on 20th to 21st July 1976. Since that date no further discussions of substance have taken place between Her Majesty's 307W Government and the Soviet authorities on the Soviet wish to concentrate accommodation in the Kensington Palace Gardens area.
