HC Deb 11 November 1977 vol 938 cc308-9W
Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Trade how many horses and ponies have been slaughtered and exported to the EEC in carcase form in the last five years.

Mr. Meacher:

This information is not available from the overseas trade statistics Following are the figures for the weight of fresh, chilled or frozen horse and pony meat exported to EEC(8):

building of Terminal 2 at London Heathrow Airport; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Clinton Davis:

The redevelopment of Terminal 2 at Heathrow is a matter for the British Airports Authority. I have not discussed this with the Chairman, but I am aware of the Authority's concern, which I share, to limit as far as possible the inconvenience to passengers while the terminal is being extended and improved. I understand that the present work should be completed before the summer of 1978.
