Mr. Ronald Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will list in theOfficial Reportthe total sum allocated to the United Kingdom from the Regional Fund administered by the European Economic Community for the years 1975, 1976 and to the latest available date; how this sum has been allocated to the regions; and if he will list the recipients together with amounts received.

Mr. Cryer:

The European Commission has agreed that contributions totalling £136.7 million from the European Regional Development Fund may be paid towards the costs of 1,591 projects in the assisted areas of Great Britain and in Northern Ireland, £35.9 million was approved in 1975, £59.1 million in 1976 and £41.7 million in 1977 to date.

The £136.7 million is allocated to projects in the regions of England and in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales as follows:
