§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total amount of Government and local authority subsidy respectively given to public authority housing in Scotland ; and if he will express these totals as an annual total per publicly owned house.
Mr. Milan:In 1976–77 public housing authorities received subsidies of £198 million from central Government, or £198 per public sector house. Rate fund contributions to housing revenue accounts of local authorities amounted to £35 million, or £40 per local authority house.
