HC Deb 10 November 1977 vol 938 c214W
42. Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will give an assurance to the House that Her Majesty's Government's proposals on the constitution, structure and organisation of broadcasting in the United Kingdom will provide Scotland with autonomy in this field to protect the distinct cultural aspects of the Scottish people.

Mr. John:

We are fully aware of the need in formulating proposals for the future constitution, structure and organisation of broadcasting to safeguard the cultural diversity of all parts of the United Kingdom.
