Mr. Kinnock

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many members of the Indonesian armed forces have been trained in British establishments in the past year; how many are currently undergoing training; and to what units they are attached.

Mr. Robert C. Brown:

It is long-established practice that we do not disclose specific details of the training which we provide for Service personnel from other countries. However, I can say that a few Indonesian officers have attended courses at Ministry of Defence establishments during the past year and that one of them is still undergoing training.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will list in the Official Reportthe real value of salaries earned by (a) junior lecturers, (b) senior lecturers and (c) professors, or equivalent levels, in each EEC country Indonesian personnel have been trained at the SAS training centre near Hereford.
