Mr. Fitt

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what is his estimate of the number of persons in Northern Ireland handicapped by spina bifida;

(2) what is his estimate of the number of children in Northern Ireland handicapped by spina bifida.

Mr. Carter:

Three hundred and sixty. The great majority of these are children, but separate figures for adults and children are not available.
