§ Mr. Hattonasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many young people who left school in the summer of 1977 in Manchester are still unemployed.
§ Mr. Golding:On 13th October there were 1,244 school leavers under age 18 registered as unemployed in the metropolitan district of Manchester. The statistics do not distinguish between the different dates of leaving school but the majority left on or after 27th May this year.
