§ Mr. Alec Jones:Estimates, based on an incomplete response by local authorities, indicate that the average weekly net unrebated council house rent payable in Wales was £4.46 in April 1976 and £5.14 in April 1977. The Department of Employment New Earnings Survey shows that average weekly male manual earnings at those times were £65.40 and £72.20 respectively.
