HC Deb 09 November 1977 vol 938 c110W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Reportthe number of general practitioners serving the Harlesden, Stonebridge, Church End, Kensal Rise and Queens Park Wards inner city areas of the London Borough of Brent together with his estimate of the numbers likely to retire in each of the next five years.

Mr. Moyle:

Information on this basis is not available centrally. At 1st July 1977, there were 250 general practitioners offering the full range of medical services in the Brent and Harrow area. 55 over the age of 60, and most of these might be expected to retire over the next five years. Recent experience suggests that there is no difficulty in replacing general practitioners in this area who retire.
