Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made in devising amendments to building regulations to ensure facilities for disabled people in new buildings following the undertakings given during the passage of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Armstrong:We are taking part in the revision of the British Standards Institution's code of practice on access for the disabled; when complete, this might form a basis for building regulations.
