§ Mr. McElhoneThe fixing of standard charges for local authority residential accommodation is a matter for individual authorities in accordance with Section 22(2) of the National Assistance Act 1948, as read with Section 87(3) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968. Information about the procedures used by local authorities is not available centrally. Guidance issued in 1969 indicated that standard charges should reflect the cost of providing the accommodation.
