§ Mr. Alec JonesLocal authorities in Wales are being encouraged to develop their housing policies on the lines recommended in the Green Paper on Housing Policy (Cmnd. 6851), and I shall be asking them to submit local housing strategy statements and housing investment programmes. I explained this new approach to representatives of all local housing authorities in Wales in a series of meetings in October. Preliminary discussions have been held with the Council for the Principality, and there will be further consultation before the issue of a circular.
