§ Mr. Canavanasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will list all the public appointments for which he is responsible, the names of the present holders of these appointments and their salaries and allowances.
Mr. Silkin, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 19th May 1977, Vol. 932, c. 228], gave the following information:
The following list shows the main public bodies for which I am responsible and the names of the chairman and members—in some cases I am jointly responsible with my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as appropriate. The list shows the salaries, where applicable, which in each case are for part-time service. Reinbursement of travelling and other expenses is normally made but information on this is not readily available.
There are a number of other bodies on which up-to-date details are not kept centrally and the cost of collecting the information together would be disproportionate.
