asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is his latest estimate of average weekly earnings for men in manual work.

The latest available estimate relates to October 1976. In my Department's regular annual survey of earnings and hours of manual workers in manufacturing and certain other industries, the average gross weekly earnings of full-time manual men, aged 21 and over, were £66.97.
