§ Mr. Gwilym Robertsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many full-and part-time appointments, respectively, are made by him which are not subject to regulation by the Civil Service Commission; what is the total sum paid annually as salary and expenses for such appointments; and if he will take steps to reduce the number of such posts.

§ Mr. Canavanasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether he will list all the public appointments for which he is responsible, the names of the present holders of these appointments and their salaries and allowances.
§ Mr. Healey, pursuant to the reply [Official Report, 19th May 1977; Vol. 932, c. 278], gave the following information:
In my capacity as Chancellor of the Exchequer I am responsible for the following paid appointments, all of which are part time:
Body Salaries(per annum) Review Body for Government Contracts Chairman: Sir William Slimmings, C.B.E., C.A. £2,000 Members: Sir Alec Cairncross, K.C.M.G., F.B.A. £1,350 Mr. J. Dent, C.B.E £1,350 Mr. B.S. Eckersley, M.B.E. £1,350 Mr. J.L. King £1,350 Some travel and other expenses are reimbursed.
I also have responsibility for making a number of unpaid appointments to public bodies.
