§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what recent representations he has received from the Joint Waste Paper Advisory Council about the disincentives currently preventing the local authorities from operating viable waste paper collection services and the need to encourage the expansion of such collections; and what reply he has sent.
§ Mr. MarksWe have received representations from the Joint Waste Paper Advisory Council about the reduction, which has now continued over many years, in the amount of waste paper recovered by local authorities. I shall be replying to them today, offering the meeting for which they have asked.
