HC Deb 19 May 1977 vol 932 c263W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Industry (1) if the Plessey Company has indicated that it is prepared to withdraw the redundancy notices at its Kirkby and other plants; and, if not, what offers it has made to provide alternative employment;

(2) if he is satisfied that the discussions with the Plessey Company on the threatened redundancies at Kirkby are proceeding with sufficient urgency; and if he expects to announce the result soon.

Mr. Cryer

Discussions with Plessey are proceeding with the utmost urgency and I hope that it will be possible to provide information in the near future.
