§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now seek to amend Section 65 of the Mental Health Act to make it compatible with the European Convention on Human Rights, which is now under review before the Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
§ Mr. MoyleMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department and I will consider whether any amendment to Section 65 of the Mental Health Act 1959 is necessary in the light of the views of the European Commission on Human Rights when these are known and in the context of the general review of the Act which is now being undertaken.
