§ Mr. DeakinsGuidance on management arrangements for the laundry and linen service in the NHS, which was based on the advice of a joint DHSS—NHS Working Party and referred to two new posts of linen service manager and principal linen service manager, was sent to health authorities in December 1976. The determination of pay and conditions of service for these officers is a matter for the Whitley Council for Administrative and Clerical Staffs. While I cannot make any commitment on the Council's behalf, I am told that agreement may be reached very shortly.
