§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he is satisfied with progress to date on the development of alternative renewable sources of energy.
§ Mr. EadieProgress with the programmes already announced is encouraging. They are being kept under review by my Advisory Council on Research and Development (ACORD), which also advises on the level of R & D funding appropriate to each energy source. Current programmes are commensurate with the early stage in the development of renewable energy sources and with their likely contribution to the country's energy supply.
