§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsMost public financial support for film making in Wales, as elsewhere, is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade. I am responsible through the Arts Council of Great Britain and the British Film Institute for the support of films about the arts and of the film as an art form. Officers of my Department discussed last November with representatives of the Welsh Office, the Welsh Arts Council and the British Film Institute the long-term policy for public funding of the art of the film in Wales.
