§ 45. Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will under take an urgent review of the operation of the child benefit scheme and the difficulties encountered in its introduction.
§ Mr. OrmeNo. I am satisfied that the child benefit scheme has got off to a good start. Up to the end of April more than 2.5 million claims to child benefit had been received from the estimated 2.8 million one-child families.
