HC Deb 09 May 1977 vol 931 c371W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what machinery exists for co-ordination with the Government of the Isle of Man in relation to the monitoring of radioactive pollution in the sea around the Isle of Man, arising from dumping of atomic waste from Windscale into the sea.

Mr. Bishop

I have been asked to reply.

In framing their monitoring programme the Government take full account of the need to safeguard the population of the Isle of Man, and my Department's Radio-biological Laboratory maintains liaison with the appropriate Manx Authorities.
