HC Deb 09 May 1977 vol 931 c401W
Mr. Ovenden

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what recent information he has received concerning the cargo carried by MV "Crail"; and what instructions he is issuing to Her Majesty's Customs and Excise in view of the master's refusal to remove this ship from the Thames.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

The ship is under arrest by the Admiraly Marshal because of matters before the High Court. Subject to permission being granted by the High Court, Customs understand that the cargo will be unloaded from the MV "Crail" and reloaded on to another vessel for onward carriage to Saudi Arabia. Any unloading and reloading will, of course, be under normal Customs supervision.
