§ Mr. HoramNo. Traffic signs do not appear in the Highway Code until they have been proved successful and prescribed in traffic signs regulations; but I am making arrangements for the publication of a leaflet explaining the diversion signs.

§ Mr. HoramNot at present. All traffic signs which are not already prescribed in regulations must be individually authorised by my right hon. Friend. This enables him to ensure uniformity of size, shape and colour as well as consistency in use.
